Erik Madigan Heck

 Apologies for no mid-week post, I've been recovering from my cold and was prepping for the photoshoot I styled yesterday, I will share the photos with you next week!

Right now I am preparing for another photoshoot I have next week in a studio at my university and I am inspired by the amazing work by Erik Madigan Heck, an American photography. I love the intense colour and drama that come out of his photos and I hope I can replicate this in my own work!

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...Karla Deras of Karla's Closet. My all time favourite blogger, she has the best, timeless style that I hope to emulate one day. Right now she is inspiring all my latest purchases!

Wanting...my bed. I am sick with a cold at the moment and all I want is my cold and flu tablets and a warm bed. (P.S. This isn't my bed haha).

Wearing...my new knit from Sportsgirl. It is so cosy and soft which is really hard for me to find as my skin is super sensitive to anything that is slightly itchy!

Listening to...Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell and T.I. Everyone is probably sick of this song by now and I'm sure I will soon be too, but for now I will just ride out its popularity.

Sunday Market Haul: Part 17

 This week was considerably better than the previous couple of weeks with lots of girls today selling clothes, however I found a lot were selling more generic, cheap brands that aren't really unique. I've been inspired recently by Karla Deras of Karla's Closet so I guess that can explain my purchases of blazers, loose pants and statement bangles. I think I'll have to do a post soon about my favourite looks of hers of all time...

The above pieces of jewellery were all around the $1-$3 mark which is very reasonable. I'm going to have to find another place in my room to put my jewellery as I have run out of room on my dresser!

 These shorts were just $2, they are a little big so sit quite low around my hips making them a longer short than what I usually wear, so I am considering shortening them or finding a way to wear them long!

 This blazer was $5 and falls so beautifully, the blazer I already own is very business like and stiff and I've always wanted something that was more graceful and seems casual enough for everyday wear.

 These white palazzo pants were $3 and they are the first pair to actually fit me properly around my waist and be the right length. I never usually wear pants this wide, so styling them may be a bit tricky! It will just have to be something to get used to.

Finally this pink blazer was free from my friend who was selling down there today but I do plan on giving her some money for it next time I see her. But I am so glad I now own it as a light pink blazer has been on my wishlist for a few years now! It falls beautifully and looks best with the sleeves pushed up.

Tip Thirteen: Wear shoes that keep your feet warm yet can easily be taken off and put back on for when you need to try on shoes!

New This Week

This week I had a few new purchases while out on my travels, Teal Coloured Jeans from Dotti, Holographic Clutch from Sportsgirl, Mens' Watch from Diva, Inferno by Dan Brown from Dymocks, White Nail Polish from Sportsgirl and a Bracelet from Equip.

Photoshoot Preparation

 So for a uni assignment that I shant bore you with the details of, means that I get to do a photoshoot next week! I am so excited because I haven't done one based around fashion for ages and I have been itching to use some special pieces in my wardrobe that I have collected. 

Here are the 10 outfits that I have put together so far, some will probably get changed over this week and on the day as I realise once the model puts it on that it looks like crap haha.

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...Black and White. I have been seeing it everywhere lately, not just in fashion but in my design work, I can't seem to escape it! However black and white together is a timeless look where you can't really go wrong.

Wanting...These red leather overalls by Friend of Mine. Or maybe anything in this colour and texture, it just seems so luxurious and dark and everything that I love rolled into one.

Wearing...My winter coats. It has been consistently cold the past few days and it is so hard to not only get warm but to stay warm. So it is time to pull out the big guns with some thick, furry coats.

Listening to...Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey. This song is on repeat right now and I can not get enough. Lana is such a beautiful emotional singer and her voice just makes me melt.

Sunday Market Haul: Part 16

 Yesterday there was very few people selling at the markets, it was Mothers Day so I am hoping that people were instead treating their deserving mothers to a beautiful and relaxing day! I still had a quick wander around while my mum was still asleep to see if I could find anything and the only luck I had was on this really cute playsuit which I picked up for $5. Otherwise, there was not too much else to really look at! 

I put together a little idea of how I would wear the playsuit out in future as right now the weather is freezing and I would probably catch frostbite if I wore this! I'll just have to wait for summer again...

Tip Twelve: Avoid awkwardness between the seller and yourself by going with a friend so you have someone else to talk to while looking through another persons belongings!
