Sportsgirl Summer Roadshow: Part Two - The Girls...

Here is Part Two of my Sportsgirl Summer Roadshow feature! Being busy with the dressing I was only able to take a few pictures of the models in their first and last outfits.
The models were all girls who actually work at the stores which I thought was such a great initiative by Sportsgirl as it shows how the clothes will actually fit on real girls!

Here are all the models pictured with the pink and fabulous Leigh Hawkes, Sportsgirls' trend forecaster who put all the looks together for the night. Her work that night made me see the importance of styling, as when I looked at some of the pieces individually, I thought I could never see myself in something like that, yet when the whole look was put together all I could do was restrain myself from grabbing all the clothes off the racks and running out of the hotel!

Here are two of my friends, Chelsea and Bre, who I work with at Sportsgirl looking fabulous as always!

Sportsgirl Summer Roadshow: Part One - The Details

Last night I was very lucky to be working backstage at a runway event that Sportsgirl put on for us girls who work in the stores to showcase all of the upcoming trends and pieces that will be coming in over our Summer season!
From looking at all the pieces backstage I was picking up on a major bohemian vibe (knew it!), a little bit of grunge, some matching tops and bottoms, oversized shapes, flowing lines and some incredible jewellery! I have already mentally bookmarked all the pieces I shall be buying and trying to calculate how much of an effect this will have on my savings account.
I took so many photos last night so I have picked my favourites and broken up them up for two posts, todays' focusing on all the little details and tomorrow being all about the girls and the outfits!
 Lots of feather headresses!
The print of a gorgeous maxi skirt I was eyeing off.

So many great shoes coming in, I'm going to have to expand my shoe storage...

Just a little sneak peak of an adorable shorts and top combo.

This was probably my favourite piece of jewellery, very ManiaMania inspired, but perfect for a girl like me who doesn't have hundreds to drop on jewellery everyday!

Goodbye money!

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...Braids and Adornment. I am currently loving a messy braided look that shows off the jewels on your ears, making them the statement piece of your outfit. Now to find the patience to braid my hair...
Wanting...A roughed up pinafore. Now, I haven't been a huge fan of the pinafore trend, it reminding me a bit too much of a school girl look, however after seeing this streetstyle pic I think my thoughts have been converted. Raw hem, dressy under top, awesome hair style, black shades = instant cool.
Wearing...My new shift dress from Sportsgirl. I am a sucker for a good shift dress, they are just so easy to wear and I can eat as much as I want when out and no one can tell! I think with just a few cool long necklaces, a strappy shoe, and perhaps a denim jacket thrown on top for the evening, it is an easy look to pull off!
Listening to...Remixes. Nothing this week has really caught my eye (ears?) music wise so I've just been catching up on the latest uploads on YouTube channel MajesticCasual who post really relaxing, trance like songs (I don't really know the genre). This channel is definately worth checking out!

Sunday Market Haul: Part 23

With the rain pouring down as it has been, the turn out to todays' markets was quite dismal, yet I still managed to come away with this very cute vintage shift top/tunic for $5. I really liked the baby blue/lilac shades and the subtle basket weave pattern, and when I got it home and tried it on the structured shoulders really balanced out the overall shape.
Check out my instagram to see the outfit I thought of for this top!

I couldn't RESist

On man I am so punny. I promise I won't come up with another title for a post like this ever again.
Today I finally got round to shooting an outfit post to share with you all after roping in my unwilling younger brother to be my photographer and getting over my morbid fear of posing for 15 minutes. I also wanted to show you all my rad new jeans from RES Denim (you can check out their website here) after buying them online from Surfstitch.com last week. I had been on the search for their Kitty Skinny Whiplash jegging for weeks after seeing them on Perth instagram blogger For the Dreamers and falling in love with the laces up the legs and thinking that they were a cool variation of a typical black jean.

I dressed today in a very wintery look as we have been having some crazy rain and storms the past couple of days here in Perth and I had to wait for a break in the rain to go out and take some photos.
Wearing: Jeans from RES Denim / / Striped Top from the Markets / / Trench from Myer / / Scarf, Shoes and Rings on my right hand and left forefinger from Sportsgirl / / Hat from City Beach / / Necklace was a DIY / / Amythest ring from Dangerfield / / Small silver ring was my Mums'

Hope you are all having a great Saturday night!

Which One!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!

Alright, so for a while now I have wanted a drapey/wrap top thing becuase I think it would look awesome with just a pair of skinny jeans and some ankle boots, it seems like a solid closet staple. I have been waiting around for a variation of it to come into one of my local shops with no luck, and instead I found two versions of it online and am now confused as to which one I should buy. My resolution: list out the pros and cons here and get you guys to help me decide (brownie points to the people who actually read this and help me choose).

Topshop
Pros: 3/4 sleeve design which is normally how I wear blouses, the draping is pretty, it seems like a good length, the neckline isn't too revealing, there is something else from Topshop I want to buy so I can bundle and get free delivery and it looked really nice on Sara from Harper and Harley.
Cons: 34 pounds = $48AUS - not really that much of an issue but I am a cheap skate and always want everything I buy to be as cheap as possible, it's 100% Viscose which just screams danger to me as this fabric is prone to shrinking, I have never bought from Topshop before, nor have I ever bought a top online before.

Sheinside
Pros: $25 - won't do as much damage to my wallet, the style seems loose and casual, 100% Cotton which is good, I have the ability to wear it longsleeved if I chose, free shipping!
Cons: Last time I bought from Sheinside the sizing was very small despite the fact I ordered a L, the fabric seems very sheer and I don't want to wear a cami underneath it.

I want your opinions so please leave a comment! Hope you all have a great weekend!

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...People wearing pattern. I'm being drawn to anything lately that is colourful and has a pattern, it makes me think of summer and makes my winter days just that bit more interesting and less dark and dreary.
Wanting...A full body jumpsuit. I own a few short ones but now I am looking for something more winter appropriate. I'm thinking something in a black slinky fabric with a tapered leg and plunging neckline.
Wearing...My Op Shop finds from todays' adventure. I scoured a couple of op shops today being in a shopping mood and found an awesome oversized grey coat, a simple silver bangle and a pair of high waisted vintage Levi's that I am thinking of cutting holes into the knees of.
Listening to...I'm Out by Ciara feat. Nicki Minaj. I've actually been a huge fan of Ciaras' ever since I was about 9 or 10 and she came out with the song My Goodies. I was innocent at that time and had no idea what she was singing about but her songs have always been fun to listen to, and she is an amazing dancer!
