What's Trending...

So I thought I would share with you guys what has been keeping me away from the blog this week! For one of my classes at uni, Fashion Merchandising, I've had to do a tonne of research about what's going on in the world politically, economically and socially and how this may influence the Spring/Summer trends for 2014 in Australia. So the three trends I've predicted have been gladiator sandals, statement earrings and co-ordinate two piece outfits. I then had to chose my favourite and create a layout that would be suitable for a magazine.

It will be interesting to see if these trend predictions actually come to be true!

I have one more assignment to finish off this weekend then I am somewhat free for a while! Cannot wait!

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...the oversized Dolce and Gabbana earrings from S/S 13. These have me wanting summer, wearing a cute floaty white dress and a pair of earrings like these, and maybe a pair of tan sandals.
Wanting...A black bralette. I have been searching for the perfect one for months now to no avail. If anyone knows where to get a good one from post a link in the comments!
Wearing...my new holographic bag from Sportsgirl. After looking at it for weeks now I finally caved and bought it, convincing myself it will be a perfect tote for summer.
Listening to...Burn by Ellie Goulding. Probably one of my favourite female singers ever, she has the most angelic voice and her songs are just pretty damn cool.

Sunday Market Haul: Part 27

Just a quick post tonight, I need to finish off an assignment before bed!
I picked up only a couple of things this morning at the markets, it was once again quiet with people swarming over the few that braved the weather to set up a stall.
The above denim jacket I picked up for $7, I admit is quite '80s, but I think it could be really cool over a black body con dress, or maybe I could grunge it up a bit over a shift dress with a mad pattern.
Last weekend at the vintage market I was looking at all the patterned blouses, either finding them too drab, bad old fashion, or way too overpriced, yet this one for $4 I don't think was such a bad buy!

Instagram Lately

Apologies for not posting anything on Wednesday, my head has been spinning with all the things I have to do for uni this weekend! With 3 projects due next week I haven't had a spare moment to myself, the joys of being a uni student!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...ways to wear fur. I picked up an amazing leopard print fur jacket yesterday at the Polka Dot Vintage Markets and have been looking at how others wear theirs for some outfit inspiration!
Wanting...Everything in Luv Aj's new jewellery collection. I love sharks and so I adore shark inspired jewellery, and am currently trying to tell myself that I don't need a shark tooth ring, not to much avail.
Wearing...this very cool chunky gold necklace from Lovisa. Sportsgirl had something like this last year but that was back when I was more of a stinge with my money so I didn't buy it regretably, yet was overjoyed when I saw this similar version!
Listening to...When I Get You Alone by Robin Thicke. An oldie but a goodie, I only found out today that the person who sang the song that I loved when I was just 8 was the one and only Robin Thicke! Oh how he has changed, I for one am glad he got rid of those locks!

Sunday Market Haul: Part 26

While better than last week, the markets this morning was still pretty empty with just a handful of people selling clothes and accessories. However I had much better luck later on in the morning at the Polka Dot Vintage Markets at the Claremont Showgrounds, picking up a few pieces I'll show off later this week.
The above scarf was just a dollar. I've been really drawn to scarves lately, and want to start wearing them either in my hair or as an accessory on my handbag.
I am still aboard the stripes bandwagon this season, and for $2 how could I resist this navy and white striped top.
They read Ralph Lauren on the inside label, how true this is, I don't know, yet for $2 I am telling myself that I have made a major saving.
A closet staple, the cropped black blazer, I've finally found one with the type of collar I was after and fits me perfectly. I picked this old Valleygirl one up for $5.

Suit Up

Feeling particularly inspired lately by sleek androgynous looks with the right touches of femininity. I personally find this style difficult to pull off, often finding myself looking a bit too corporate. The trick I think is in choosing the right pieces, particularly for a short person like me. A pair of skinny pants, a long oversized blazer, a loose blouse with a low neckline and a pair of high heels would create a balanced look. Whereas taller people would get away with wearing a loose trouser, with their height counteracting the illusion of looking like a rectangle of too much fabric.

Hopefully I will be able to get out to take a few pictures for an outfit post in the next couple of days, however the constant threat of a downpour has made this near impossible so fingers crossed for the weather to clear up soon!

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...Autumn Streetstyle. While this picture wasn't taken in Australia, I am feeling inspired by others dressing for the changing seasons and making use of transitional pieces like light trench coats and harem style pants.
Wanting...a mid calf length pencil skirt. I am currently loving this trend however amd a bit worried that my height and body shape may not suit this particular style! So I am on the hunt for the perfect length skirt that doesn't make me look too short!
Wearing...my new monochrome dress from Sportsgirl. I feel so guilty that my new purchases are almost always from Sportsgirl, but when working there it's hard to keep your hands off the new arrivals!
Listening to...Tennis Court by Lorde. This New Zealand singer has caught my attention this past week after I heard how amazing she was at Splendour on the Grass in Byron Bay!

Sunday Market Haul: Part 25

As the sky threatened to crack open at any moment this morning, there were only a handful of people bravely setting up their stalls at the markets. With only 2 girls down there selling clothing and accessories, this made it a very cheap day for me, picking up this pair of fake Chanel earrings for just $1. I am still feeling quite partial towards gold jewellery lately, and love anything that can be a statement on its' own.

In other news, I went back to uni last week after a blissful month and a half off and am currently trying to organise my life into some sort of order where I can manage uni, study, work, blogging and a social life all at the same time. So far, not so good as I drown in the sea that is weekly readings and paperwork. Hopefully I will find the majestical balance soon!

Sunday Session

Sunday was a busy day where I had two birthday events to go to, one in the afternoon sitting around at a pub right on the river for my best friend, and a dinner in the evening for one of the gorgeous girls I work with!

I was feeling particularly inspired by my favourite blogger Karla Deras that day so wore a loose blouse tucked into a pair of rolled up jeans to show off my new shoes, and threw on a vintage coat over the top.

I am so in love with my new shark tooth necklace from Sportsgirl, I had been wanting something similar to the Givenchy one for so long, since I am obsessed with anything and everything shark related.
Wearing: Jeans by Guess / / Blouse from the Markets / / Vintage coat from Broken Doll / / Shoes from the Markets / / Clutch from the Markets / / Bracelet from the Markets / / Watch by Fossil / / Ring on right hand from the Markets / / Ring on left hand from Diva / / Necklace from Sportsgirl / / Sunglasses from a Red Cross Op Shop

This Week I Am...

Inspired By...the new Zara Lookbook. Wearing all black is so easy, and definately one of the staple looks that I fall back on when I am not having such a great day. I love how Zara has made all black outfits a little bit sexier with the lingerie inspired slip dress and balanced it out with a wide-brimmed hat and oversized coat.
Wanting...a bomber jacket. While I do feel this trend is somewhat slowly being phased out, it is only recently that I have been inspired by others on how to wear one, my favourite look is wearing it with a pair of skin tight black jeans, a simple tee, basic heels, having the jacket draped across your shoulders and holding a cool clutch.
Wearing...my new red shorts from Sportsgirl. I probably need to take my legs out of winter hibernation by applying some fake tan first, but I'm really looking forward to wearing these shorts on a warmer day. I imagine pairing them with a new fuzzy white jumper of mine and a pair of tan sandals.
Listening to...Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo feat. 2Chainz. One of the models at the Sportsgirl Summer Roadshow last week was playing this song and ever since I have been obsessed!

Sunday Market Haul: Part 24

This morning was a really lovely morning, the sun was out and I was just feeling good, I love days like that! It was great to see lots of sellers unlike last week, and I was able to find lots of great bargains.
The above shoes cost $10 which is more than I usually spend on one item at the markets, however they were brand new and such a gorgeous style, and at the right moments I believe in paying for quality.
I picked up this very cute, deep purple pencil skirt for $3 which I imagine wearing with my black Windsor Smith shoes, a crop top and my leather biker jacket.
I love a good, comfy t-shirt dress so when I saw this Kookai one for $2 how could I resist?
This dress was probably my most unique find this morning, a maxi knit/crochet dress. I really love finding pieces like this, knowing that I haven't seen anything else like it anywhere!
